At the top are sites that largely have newsletters that get sent out periodically, once a day or week or whatever. What I learn the most from or most enjoy reading. But after that, I will just post other sites I just like and will say why in the description.

https://www.codastory.com/oligarchy/ by Oliver Bullough, a hilarious genius. Exactly what you want in a newsletter, funny, concise, about things that are crazily important that nobody talks about except this guy who knows of what he speaks.

https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/ by Heather Cox Richardson or HCR as she's becoming known as. A well informed historian whose daily newsletter tells you what's going on but also helps frames it. Well sourced and not shrill, doesn't traffic in deflection. If you want to just have one daily source on what's going on in the US, this is the best one. In times of uncertainty, listen to the historians.

https://www.internationalintrigue.io/ Just the right amount of information about what matters in the world. Funny and accurate. If you want one daily news source on world news, this is the best I have found. Unlike all the famous long-winded papers, they are good at ignoring the deflective BS and good at identifying things modestly covered that are important.
