Let's build a strong, mission-driven endowment at Wesleyan
For decades there has been a lack of clarity and consensus about what Wesleyan's endowment should and should not invest in. If students and alumni cooperated, we could better understand and come to consensus about this. At the same time, there is a growing threat to the finances of higher education throughout the country. Now is the time to come together to protect the financial future of Wesleyan.
I’ll be on campus Monday 28 April and Tuesday 29 April to better understand students' and the broader campus community's views on this issue and to see what, if anything, can be done to promote alignment.
Join me for an open discussion 8pm Monday 28 April at the Frank Center for Public Affairs room 100 from 8pm to 9pm
I will be downstairs at Usdan Monday 28 April from 2pm to 6pm if anybody would like to stop by and find out what this is all about. Don't be shy, just say hi.
I'm not affiliated with any organization —just here to connect and learn. This effort is just starting.
If you're interested in meeting while I am there, feel free to reach out:
Or just stop me on campus if you see me wandering around.
As I schedule things, or know where I will be while in Middletown, I'll post them here.
Please share this with anyone who might be interested!
Thanks,

I am from Dallas, class of '89 at Wesleyan, then spent twenty five years outside of the US working in East Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe on democracy and the struggle against corruption with nonprofits, some international and some domestic. I have also done a number of start-ups. In 2013 I moved from Tbilisi to San Francisco and began working on US democracy. We conducted a randomized control trial of voter turnout with the highest turnout effect ever tested. For the last four years I have lived in Barcelona focusing on non-profit open-source technology enabling community building.
